For the final time of this calendar year, Derby County are back at Pride Park Stadium, charged with the mission of sending themselves into Christmas on a high when they face Millwall!

The Rams will also be looking to build on their three-game winning run when they take on the Lions (kick-off: 3pm) and dcfc.co.uk has collated all the information you need ahead of the visit of the Neil Harris’ men…

WHAT’S THE LATEST TEAM NEWS

Andreas Weimann and Tom Lawrence have both trained ahead of Saturday’s game and are in contention to face Millwall.

The former picked up an injury during the 2-0 win over Aston Villa and was taken off as a precaution, whilst the latter missed the victory entirely with a foot problem sustained against Barnsley two weeks ago.

The attacking duo, however, are ready to be called upon once more.

With that, it does mean that Gary Rowett, the Derby boss, has got a fully fit squad to call upon for the visit of the Lions.

WHAT THE BOSS HAD TO SAY?

Speaking to RamsTV ahead of this weekend’s game, Gary Rowett said: “I know Neil Harris and Dave Livermore after I spent 18 months with them on my Pro Licence Course.

“They have done a tremendous job and after suffering defeat in the play-off final in 2015/16, they did brilliantly to bounce back and get promoted last season.

“It takes a lot of mental strength to do that and they’ve also done well this season. They’ve been good at home which you would expect from a Millwall team.

“They went to Aston Villa recently, drew 0-0 and had the better chances and more energy. They were unfortunate and unlucky not to get the win and we will be mindful of what they have got to offer.

“They are a physical and energetic side. We have found a good balance of finding different ways to win games and this will be another difficult test. I won’t be reading much into their away form at all.”

ONE TO WATCH

Richard Cawley, sports editor at the South London Press, has told us that George Saville has been Millwall’s star man so far this campaign.

The midfielder is a player that Lions fans know all about after he enjoyed two previous fruitful loan spells at The Den before he signed a three-year deal with the club ahead of their return to the Championship.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who joined from table-toppers Wolves, has struck seven goals in 24 appearances this term and has been in terrific form for Neil Harris’ men.

Saville, an FA Youth Cup winner with Chelsea when he was younger, has also seen his efforts rewarded with his first international call-up. He is now a fully-fledged international after receiving a call-up to the Northern Ireland squad for the World Cup Qualifiers against Germany and Norway.

The belief Michael O’Neill had in him was apparent last month when he made his first international start in Northern Ireland’s crunch World Cup qualifying play-off second-leg match against Switzerland.

Saville has also recently been named in Sky Sports’ top 10 players in the Sky Bet Championship so far.

WHAT’S TO COME IN THE RAM

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST THE LIONS?

MILLWALL 3-3 DERBY COUNTY
Saturday 25th April 2015

Jeff Hendrick’s late stunner rescued Derby County a point the last time these two sides met in the Championship in April 2015.

Lee Gregory scored a hat-trick for the hosts – scoring the first two inside 10 first half minutes to give the Lions a comfortable 2-0 lead at The Den.

Tom Ince halved the deficit, but Gregory struck again after the interval to claim the match ball as Millwall restored their two-goal cushion.

However, Chris Martin struck from the penalty spot and then Hendrick volleyed in a equaliser in the Rams’ penultimate fixture of the 2014/15 season as Millwall were left on the brink of relegation to League 1.

WHO’S THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE?

Darren England will take charge of Derby County's 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship fixture at home to Millwall on Saturday.

England has overseen 20 games so far this season, producing a total of 81 yellow cards and two reds.

His last Derby County game was the Carabao Cup Second Round tie at home to Carlisle United last season, which ended in a 1-1 draw before the Rams progressed to the Third Round on penalties.

England will be assisted by James Mainwaring and Nick Greenhalgh on the lines, whilst Mark Heywood has been appointed as the Fourth Official.
