Derby County’s Jason Shackell has joined fellow Sky Bet Championship side Millwall on loan for the rest of the season.

The 34-year-old completed all of the relevant paperwork this afternoon to seal his switch to The Den.

The centre-back has found opportunities limited this season after recovering from back surgery in March.

His two first-team appearances for Gary Rowett’s side during the current campaign came in the Carabao Cup.

He could make his debut for Neil Harris’ side in their Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round tie at home to Rochdale on Saturday afternoon.

Under the terms of the loan agreement Shackell will be unable to feature against Derby when the two sides meet at The Den on Tuesday 30th January.

The defender joined Derby from Burnley in the summer of 2015 to begin his second spell at Pride Park Stadium and, after making 62 appearances, he has taken his Rams total to 111 in all competitions.
