Derby County is saddened to hear of the passing of former director Richard Moore.

Richard, who was also a director of knitwear company Cox Moore, joined the Rams’ board in the mid-1970s.

A chartered accountant by profession, he became chairman of the finance committee, a role he energetically embraced and to which he made positive contributions.

He was always a Derby supporter and fellow former club director, Stuart Webb, described Richard as a ‘lovely man and a true Rams fan.’

The flags outside the main entrance at Pride Park Stadium are being flown at half-mast as a mark of respect to Richard today, whilst the club wishes to pass its condolences on to his family and friends at this time.
