Seven Derby County Under-23s players have all put pen to paper on new one-year contract extensions.

Kellan Gordon, who is currently on loan with Sky Bet League 2 side Swindon Town, Jayden Bogle, Henrich Ravas, Alex Babos, Ethan Wassall, Josh Barnes and Calum Macdonald have all signed fresh terms to remain with the club.

Babos, Wassall and Barnes have all been key figures for Darren Wassall’s side this campaign, whilst Bogle has impressively stepped up from the Under-18s recently.

Meanwhile, Ravas is enjoying a fruitful loan spell at Gainsborough Trinity this season and Macdonald has recently gained first-team exposure at Barrow.

Speaking to RamsTV about the new contracts, Darren Wassall said: “It’s great for all of those players because it is a reward for all of their hard work.

“There’s never a set time to offer contracts – they are always up for grabs. It doesn’t matter how old you are, footballers should be striving to get better every single day, with the aim of getting into the team above you.

“In terms of those players, they have shown that attitude to better themselves and push on to get that new contract.

“This also shows that the club think highly of you and this is a great reflection on those seven players.”
