The Derby County Allstars are dusting off their cricket whites as they prepare to defend their title against Spondon Cricket Club in our annual charity Colin Bloomfield Memorial Cup, which this year is taking place at 2pm on Sunday 8th July.

The Allstars clinched the victory last year and several famous faces, including Craig Ramage and Roger Davies, are stepping up to take part this year, with a whole host of activities taking place alongside the main event.

For the first time, the day will start at 12pm with a performance from Ilkeston Brass Band, who will be playing well known and well-loved songs as part of a mini ‘Last Night at the Proms’ style concert, complete with Derby County flags.

They will also be commemorating the late Justin Phillips, the former Ram, who sadly passed away recently.

Other well-known Derby faces including Sandy Ryan will be on hand at the event, all with the aim to raise funds for Derby County Community Trust and their wide-ranging projects.

There will be a number of activities on the day for kids and adults alike, with tombola’s, bouncy castles, face painting and food and bar facilities all on offer throughout the day. Prizes include a hospitality day at Derby County, signed DCFC merchandise, signed Sir Bobby Charlton England football, a TV, gift cards, cinema tickets and more.

Parking is available on the day at Spondon Cricket Club, Locko Road, Derby, DE21 7AR, and entry is free for children and just £2 for adults.

Entry is payable on the day from 12pm on Sunday 8th July.

The event is kindly organised every year by Derby County Community Trust supporter Neil Bennett, and so far has raised thousands for the charitable work of the Trust over the years.
