Derby County return to action following the international break to face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday 24th November, kick-off: 3pm.

Frank Lampard’s side enjoyed an impressive period following the last international break, picking up a pair of wins, a draw and a defeat in league action and will look to return to their good form when they travel to face Jos Luhukay.

Here, dcfc.co.uk has gathered all you need to know ahead of the clash.

TEAM NEWS…

Craig Bryson, Mason Mount, Martyn Waghorn and George Evans have all been back training with the squad.

Lampard said that while Evans may need some more training and possibly games with the Under-23s before he is ready, the other three are competing for gametime against Sheffield Wednesday.

Craig Forsyth, Mason Bennett, Joe Ledley and Marcus Olsson will all be out of action on Saturday.

WHAT THE BOSS HAD TO SAY…

Speaking to RamsTV, Lampard said: “I’m not underestimating Sheffield Wednesday. I know they are a good team, they have got players who can hurt you.

“I watched them earlier in the season and they had some good games and I thought they were unlucky with some of the results they got. They were playing some good football and we can’t think that they are a team out of form.

“We have to understand that they can hurt us. Every team in this division can hurt you if you’re not at it so we will approach the game in the same way.

HOW TO SECURE YOUR SEAT…

There is no pay on the day tickets for this fixture and advanced tickets are no longer on sale.

Derby County’s initial allocation of 2,510 tickets sold out last week and were given a further 664 tickets bringing the total to 3,182.

THE LAST MEETING…

Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Derby County

February 13th 2018

A brace by Lucas Joao gave Sheffield Wednesday their first league victory under Jos Luhukay and prevented Derby County from moving to an automatic promotion spot.

In the opening 20 minutes, Jack Hunt controlled Adam Reach’s cross and laid the ball back for Joao to fire in. He then doubled the lead after the break, cutting in from the left before finding the bottom corner.

Matej Vydra had a shot glance wide and Andreas Weimann had a shot saved in the final stages of the game.

It will be the first time this season Simpson will referee a fixture involving the Rams although he was the man in the middle for draws against Norwich City and Nottingham Forest last season.
