Derby County's Under-23s have been drawn to face Newcastle United in the Premier League Cup Quarter Finals at the Northumberland FA on Monday 1st April, kick-off 1pm.

It is the first time the Under-23s have reached this stage of the competition after falling at the first knockout stage against Sheffield United last season.

Darren Wassall’s side defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 before the international break in the round of 16 at Pride Park Stadium to reach the next round.

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson, fresh of his first-team debut in midweek, scored the opening goal before turning provider for Cameron Cresswell. The visitors then pulled one back in the latter stages of the game, but it was the Rams who deservedly moved on to the next stage.

The Magpies set up the tie after their 2-1 victory over Reading.
