Phillip Cocu believes there’s no better time for Derby County to begin to turn their away form around that at the home of their local rivals.

In their final Sky Bet Championship fixture before the November international break, Derby will make the short journey across Brian Clough Way to take on Nottingham Forest at the City on Saturday (12:30pm kick-off).

After getting the season underway with a 2-1 victory at Huddersfield Town, thanks to two goals from Tom Lawrence, the Rams have found results hard to come by away from home.

While they have racked up fourth successive wins and six games unbeaten at Pride Park Stadium, their points return on the road has been less impressive.

Since that victory at Huddersfield, Cocu’s side have recorded three draws and three defeats from six away fixtures in the Championship.

Off the back of a 2-0 home win over Middlesbrough last weekend, Cocu was keen to move the focus onto the trip across the East Midlands.

He told RamsTV: “It would be a great place to get a result in an away game.

“Our first focus was to get a win against Middlesbrough to prepare ourselves for this game.

“We knew it was an important game for us and the team, but now we know we have to get a result in an away game.

“It will be a tough match but a very good place to get a good result.”

Phillip Cocu’s full pre-match thoughts ahead of the trip to Forest will be available across dcfc.co.uk and RamsTV later this week.
