Phillip Cocu wants Derby County to maintain their impressive home form when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to Pride Park Stadium this weekend.

Derby will face Mark Warburton’s side in their final fixture of November on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off) eyeing a sixth successive home victory.

Cocu’s side boast one of the best home records in the Sky Bet Championship and manager believes the Rams should relish the opportunity to continue their fine form in front of their own supporters.

As well as winning their last five fixtures at Pride Park, Derby are now unbeaten in seven on their own patch and will have incoming signing Wayne Rooney in attendance for the first time at the weekend.

Speaking to RamsTV, Cocu explained: “The spotlight is always on when we are at home. As I said recently, we have to look forward to playing home games.

“We are doing well at home; we feel good at home along with the fans supporting us.

“We have the confidence that we can perform well in our home matches and get a good result.”

Cocu has, however, stressed Derby are in for a difficult game against Warburton’s side.

Rangers started the season strongly and despite not picking up the results they would have liked in recent games, the 49-year-old is well aware of their qualities.

He is also keen to see a response from his side after they suffered a 3-0 defeat at Fulham on Tuesday evening, which saw them remain without a win away from home since the opening day of the campaign.

“It will be hard work this weekend,” said the Derby boss.

“Queens Park Rangers are a good team. They are an energetic team and we have to recover from the midweek game at Fulham, look back and discuss it.

“It is also a mindset that we have to find a result away from home soon because we can’t rely always on the home games. That will not be good enough.”
