Derby County will face Premier League side Crystal Palace away from home in the Third Round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup.

The Eagles, managed by former England boss Roy Hodgson, currently sit 11th in the Premier League and the Rams will test themselves against top flight opposition at Selhurst Park early in the New Year.

The draw took place just after 7pm on Monday evening and was staged by former Manchester City defender Micah Richards and Arsenal legend Tony Adams.

The Third Round is scheduled for the weekend of 3/4/5/6 January 2020 with fixtures taking place between Friday and Monday.

The tie will also be manager Phillip Cocu’s first taste of the FA Cup following his appointment as Derby’s boss back in July.

Full details, including the match date and ticket information, will be communicated to supporters at the earliest opportunity right here on dcfc.co.uk and across the club’s digital channels.

Derby reached the Fifth Round of the competition last season and overcame Premier League Southampton at the Third Round stage.

After a 2-2 draw at Pride Park Stadium in the original tie the replay at St Mary’s Stadium also ended all-square with the same scoreline, with Derby eventually progressing on penalties.
