Derby County are back in action on home turf for the final time in 2019 in the Sky Bet Championship when they take on Charlton Athletic under the Pride Park Stadium floodlights (7:45pm kick-off).

Phillip Cocu’s side will be looking to round off the decade with a positive result in front of the home faithful in the first of two games at Pride Park this week.

Here, dcfc.co.uk has gathered all the information you will need ahead of the clash with the Addicks.

TEAM NEWS…

Left-back Scott Malone is available for selection again after sitting out the Boxing Day trip to Wigan Athletic owing to a one-match ban following his sending off at Reading before Christmas.

Manager Phillip Cocu must decide whether to bring Malone straight back into the starting XI or stick with Max Lowe after he started in the game at Wigan.

Tom Lawrence will miss the games against Charlton and Barnsley either side of the New Year after picking up his tenth booking of the campaign in the 1-1 draw at Wigan, so Cocu will be forced to make at least one change.

Matt Clarke (knee), Tom Huddlestone (hamstring), Mason Bennett (ankle), Graeme Shinnie (hamstring), George Evans (calf) and Ikechi Anya (calf) remain in the treatment room and out of action.

Clarke, Huddlestone and Shinnie are making good progress in their rehabilitation programmes and are currently stepping up their workload but remain out of contention for the time being.

Wayne Rooney remains unavailable ahead of officially becoming a Derby player from 1st January 2020 and he will, once again, join the coaching staff in the dugout.

PRE-MATCH THOUGHTS…

Speaking to RamsTV ahead of Monday's home game, manager Phillip Cocu said: “We know that we have to end 2019 well and start in the right way in 2020.

“We saw at Wigan with the fans backing us again with huge numbers and that is a great feeling.

“That is also a huge part in the game that they still believe in us and together with the team and this spirit, courage and bravery to play, we have all the confidence that we can have a good two games at Pride Park.”

He added: “It is very important for us to have the chance to get some good results in these games against sides around us.

“We just focus on the games and don’t think too much about what ifs, you just have to continue. In the last two games against Reading and also at Wigan, we saw some good stuff and that is something we have to focus on in the home games and the results will come.”

More pre-match thoughts from the Derby boss in the lead-up to Monday night's game can be found across dcfc.co.uk and RamsTV.
