You can get your hands on the second edition of Derby County’s new monthly magazine, The Rampage, from today.

The bumper 100-page magazine was launched last month to replace the matchday programme and will be released on the second Thursday of each month.

In the latest edition, The Rampage sat down with Tom Lawrence for an in-depth interview as he spoke for the first time about losing his mum and the comeback from the troubled months that followed.

We also explore the reasons behind why Derby County players will continue to take the knee ahead of games, pay tribute to the Rams’ last surviving member of the FA Cup winning side, Reg Harrison, and lots more exclusive content.

In a behind the scenes look at Moor Farm Training Ground, The Rampage was given access to spend the day with the Derby County goalkeepers.

Here is an extract from the piece that you can read exclusively in the magazine from today.

On one particular drill, Marshall stands in position ready to start. Before he does, Given challenges Ravas to hit the top corner from 12 yards so the delivery must be good. It must be accurate, precise and at speed.

Indirectly, he has put pressure on Ravas. Marshall goes through the routine, jumps high across his goal four times and Ravas smashes the ball towards the top corner. It’s going at some pace, but Marshall leaps through the air and almost like Stretch Armstrong, tips the ball over the crossbar.

‘You Slovakian genius’, shouts Given, before celebrating an incredible save from Marshall. And it wasn’t just that one. Ravas, Roos and Idem all pull off magnificent stops which are met with the same enthusiasm from the Goalkeeper Coach.

He keeps it entertaining. He keeps it to a real life standard. Even when the ball is there to be finished for a rebound, he’s there to tell the goalkeepers to get up and set in position.

“It’s match pace,” Given said. “It mirrors when you go and join in the main group and balls are coming in at 70/80 miles an hour. You don’t want to be doing little throws, you have to get up to speed with the goalkeeping side of things as well.”
