The Football Association has provided an update on its process to recruit a new FA Chair, following the resignation of Greg Clarke.
The formal recruitment process will follow the principles set out in The FA’s Football Leadership Diversity Code, with hiring based on merit from a diverse talent pool.
The FA Board has set up a selection panel of six members, including three members who are independent from The FA, to oversee the process and to identify the candidate who has the necessary character, skills and experience to be successful in the role.
Derby County’s Specialist First Team Coach Liam Rosenior, who also sits on the FA’s Inclusion Advisory Board, is one of the six panel members.
The members of the selection panel are as follows:

The role will be advertised in early December and remain open for four weeks before the shortlisting process begins. The intention is to complete the recruitment process and make an appointment by Spring 2021.
To date, over 20 search firms have already expressed an interest in leading the recruitment for the role. The FA will decide on who they partner within the next two weeks ahead of the advert going live.

Biographies:
Stacey Cartwright
Stacey was appointed onto The FA Board in June 2018 and is an Independent Non-Executive Director. Stacey is the Chair of Ovo Energy and also Non-Executive Director on the board of Genpact, and she has previously led the Harvey Nichols Group as Deputy Chair and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to which, she held senior executive roles at Burberry Plc, Egg Plc and Granada. Stacey also has non-executive experience having served on the boards of GSK and Liverpool FC and has been appointed onto the board of Savills and AerCap. Stacey serves on The FA’s Group Audit Committee and Nominations Committee.
Peter McCormick OBE
Peter was appointed onto The FA Board and Council in August 2015 as a representative of the Premier League and also serves on the Professional Game Board, FA Challenge Cup Committee, Football Regulatory Authority, Nominations Committee, Council Membership & Appointments Committee and Remuneration Committee, the latter of which he chairs. He is a Vice-Chair of The FA (and current Interim Chairman). Peter is Chairman of the Legal Advisory Group of the Premier League and Chairman of the League’s Football Board, both Executive positions. Peter was Chairman of the Premier League in 2014-15. Peter chairs Tribunals and Appeals for the Premier League, Football Association and Professional Game Match Officials Ltd. He is Chairman of Football Stadia Improvement Fund Ltd and a trustee of the Football Foundation. Peter heads the Corporate and Commercial team at McCormicks Solicitors. He is an internationally recognised expert in Sports, Media and Entertainment Law. Peter is also a leading national figure in Charities Law and was awarded the OBE for services to charity in 2000.
Rupinder Bains
Rupinder was appointed onto The FA Board in November 2017, jointly representing The English Football League and The FA Premier League. Rupinder is founder and Managing Director of the law firm Pinder Reaux & Associates Limited. The firm specialises in media, defamation and reputation management and sports law. Rupinder serves on the Membership and Sanctions Committee and Women’s Football Board.
Jack Pearce
Jack was appointed onto The FA Board in 2015, having first been appointed as a Divisional Representative on The FA Council in 2001 and is a Vice-Chair of The FA. Jack serves on the National Game Board, Remuneration Committee, Judicial Panel, National Game Finance Committee and Alliance Committee, the latter of which he chairs. Jack was formerly a player and manager of Bognor Regis Town and continues to serve the club as its General Manager and Vice-Chairman. Jack is a Board member of the National League and a Council member of Sussex County FA as well as being a trustee of the Football Foundation.
Liam Rosenior
Liam was named as a new member of The FA’s Inclusion Advisory Board in May 2020. The Derby County first-team coach and former Fulham, Hull City and Brighton player is part of the IAB which is a sub-committee of, and reports into, the main FA Board. Formed in 2013 following the introduction of the cross-football inclusion and anti-discrimination programme, its latest development includes In Pursuit of Progress, our current three-year equality, diversity and inclusion plan. The plan set clear and ambitious targets to drive meaningful change within the organisation and across the game, focusing on initiatives to promote equality and increase the diversity of those playing, officiating, coaching, leading and governing English football.
Kate Tinsley
Kate was appointed onto The FA board in October 2017 and is an Independent Non-Executive Director. Kate is the CEO of MKM Building Supplies having formerly been the Divisional Managing Director of Ibstock Plc and Chief Executive Officer of The Buildbase Group. Prior to this Kate has served in senior finance roles at Saint Gobain, BSS PLC and Grafton Group PLC. As an FA qualified coach Kate is passionate about football and motivated by her desire to ensure that football is For All. This includes making sure that there are equal opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to play and enjoy football at all levels of the game.Kate serves on the Remuneration Committee and Group Audit Committee.
