Bielik Taking Positives From Derby’s Recent Unbeaten Run

Midfielder Krystian Bielik believes there are positives to take from Derby County’s recent form, with the Rams unbeaten in their last five games.

That’s largely down to the Derby’s defensive record after not conceding in 270 minutes of football.

The Rams have drawn four and won one of their last five games but have kept three consecutive clean sheets along the way.

It included home draws against Wycombe Wanderers, Coventry City and more recently Stoke City, whilst on the road Derby picked up four points from a possible six by beating Millwall and drawing with Brentford.

Bielik, who recently returned to the side from a 10-month lay-off due to a serious knee injury, believes that a solid foundation is a good building block and is confident that more wins are edging closer.

“I think we have done quite well, especially in defence,” he told RamsTV. “It’s five games unbeaten now and the last three games have had a clean sheet too. There are many positives and we will try to build on this as well.

“We’ve had some positive moments in offense as well, but we just need to cross the line, score the goal and get another three points.

“That’s the most important thing for us, so we are going to try again on Wednesday against Swansea.”

Bielik’s recent performances have attracted praise from both the management staff and also from supporters.

The midfielder has been a steady influence on the Rams’ squad since his reintroduction, especially in his break up play and starting attacks.

The praise hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Polish international and he believes Derby are heading in the right direction.

“I feel great and I know about the support from the fans as they message me on social media,” he said. “I feel I am doing well and feel good on the pitch. It’s really important for me that I have their backs and it’s pleasing.

“I have played five games in a row after quite a long time out, but I am doing my best to recover as quick as I can and be ready for another game.

“It is the same for the other players. We already have a good mood; we are all ready and I feel that we really feel confident and we want to play another game to show everyone the quality that we have and finish the game with three points.

“Everyone is like: ‘I can’t wait for another game, let’s win it’.”
