Wayne Rooney has confirmed that Derby County midfielder Krystian Bielik is undergoing a scan to determine the extent of the injury he picked up in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Bristol City.

The Polish international midfielder went down in agony holding his right knee towards the end of the first-half of the Sky Bet Championship fixture at Pride Park Stadium.

Bielik was carried off on a stretcher and is waiting to find out how long he will be out of action for.

Rooney explained to RamsTV: “Krystian is having a scan today, so once he has had that we will know the seriousness of the injury.

“He is alright generally; I spoke to Krystian yesterday and it’s tough. We all know it is tough for him, so we will all be there for him to help in his recovery.”

He added: “We will give him all the help he needs to get back fit and get back playing.”

Bielik, who is 23, has made 13 appearances for Derby so far this season and scored twice.
