The ninth edition of The Rampage catches up with Krystian Bielik in his rehabilitation - and the club's magazine is set for release on Thursday 13th May.

As well as an update from the Rams’ midfielder, the bumper 100-page Derby County magazine also spoke to former Rams player Shaun Barker about life after football, including his new clothing like ‘With The Gods’ and his work with RamsTV, while Owen Bradley picks his Jack Stamps trophy winners Starting XI.

With Dementia awareness week falling in May, we look at the efforts of Derby County and the Community Trust to help families in our community suffering with the effects of the disease, as well as its impact on the beautiful game.

Here is an extract from the five-page interview with Bielik who spoke for the first time after suffering his second long-term knee injury that you can read exclusively in The Rampage.

Krystian Bielik is in a good place. He is in a positive frame of mind and is progressing well after suffering his second Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in just over 12 months. It’s pleasing to hear.

“My mindset is much better now,” Bielik admitted.

It has been a long road for the Polish international, and it’s only set to continue, but he’s happy to talk. He’s certainly not hiding. Some players can sit and feel sorry for themselves, whilst others roll up their sleeves and get on with it. It’s fair to say Bielik has displayed both of those characteristics in recent months.

He was devastated at the start, understandably. Another long lay-off loomed, but once he got his head around the situation, his natural instincts kicked in. He has determination, hunger and desire to come back and prove once again he can do and come back stronger than ever.

“Mentality wise, at the beginning, you can imagine how sad I was and how bad I was,” he explained. “Thinking about it still makes me sad, but everything is fine now and I’m working hard. I feel great and I’m getting stronger every day.”
