Derby County winger Kamil Jozwiak set up Poland’s equaliser as they came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Spain in their second UEFA European Championships group fixture on Saturday evening.

Jozwiak played the full 90 minutes as he registered his 16th senior international cap.

The Group E encounter was played at Estadio La Cartuja in Seville and Spain, in a strong first-half showing, took the lead through former Chelsea striker Álvaro Morata from close range after 25 minutes.

Poland rallied after the break and Jozwiak, who played at right-wing back, delightfully crossed for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski to head home an equaliser just before the hour mark.

Spain, the 2008 and 2012 winners of the tournament, could have restored their lead immediately after being pegged back from the penalty spot but Gerard Moreno smashed the ball against the post Morata put the rebound wide.

Both sides pushed for a winner but in the end they had to settle for a point apiece, meaning Poland were able to put their 2-1 defeat to Slovakia on Monday quickly behind them.

Poland’s final Group E fixture is in Saint Petersburg against Sweden on Wednesday 23rd June (5pm kick-off) and Paulo Sousa’s side still have a chance to reach the knockout stages.
