Derby County will continue their preparations ahead of the 2021/22 Sky Bet Championship season on Saturday when they head to Salford City in their latest pre-season friendly.

Wayne Rooney’s side will make the journey north to face the Sky Bet League Two side at their Peninsula Stadium home (3pm kick-off).

After last weekend’s friendly against Manchester United at Pride Park Stadium, with the Premier League giants 2-1 winners, Derby’s next test will see them face up to a side gunning for promotion from the fourth tier.

Several free agents are currently training with Derby and those players are in line to get some match minutes under their belt against Gary Bowyer’s side.

Polish winger Kamil Jozwiak returned for pre-season training earlier this week after his summer break, following his exploits with Poland at the UEFA European Championships, but he will not feature in the matchday squad.

Midfielder Jason Knight (ankle) will once again miss out, as well as long-term absentee Kristian Bielik (knee).

Striker Jack Stretton and attacking midfielder Louie Watson are in line to return to training at the start of next week after picking up minor injuries early in pre-season.
