Ravel Morrison’s stunning debut goal for Derby County has been named as the ‘Goal of the Round’ for Round One of this season’s Carabao Cup.

The attacking midfielder, who joined the Rams as a free agent earlier this month, crowned his first competitive appearance for the club with superb goal in Derby’s cup clash against Salford City at Pride Park Stadium.

The tie against the Sky Bet League Two side ended in a 3-3 draw, with Morrison’s goal late on taking the game to penalties.

The Jamacia international saw an initial free-kick from the edge of the box hit the Salford wall, but the rebound fell into his path to expertly cut across the ball and fire it into the top corner with his right foot.

Derby were 5-3 winners on penalties and will head to fellow Championship side Sheffield United in Round Two next week.

Morrison’s goal came out on top in an online vote which was run by Sporf, seeing off competition from five other Round One goals.
