Manager Wayne Rooney has named a youthful side for this evening’s Carabao Cup Second Round tie against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane (7:45pm kick-off).


The Rams’ boss has named eight players aged 23 or under in his starting line-up, whilst he has named an experienced central defensive duo with Richard Stearman partnering Craig Forsyth who captains the side.

Ryan Allsop continues in goal, whilst there is a first appearance of the season for full back Kornell McDonald who has missed the start of the season through injury.

Jordan Brown makes his second start of this competition in the Carabao Cup, as does Jack Stretton who scored his first goal for the Rams against Peterborough United 10 days ago.

The manager has named second year scholar Dylan Williams in his starting XI, whilst there is a place on the bench for fellow second year scholar Marko Borkovic who is named as a substitute for the first time.
