Derby County Academy graduates Lee Buchanan and Louie Sibley helped England’s Under-20s to an emphatic victory over Romania on Monday afternoon.

The duo featured for the Three Lions as they recorded a convincing 6-1 success in a friendly fixture which was staged at St George’s Park.

Left-back Buchanan was named in the starting line-up and played 45 minutes, while attacking midfielder Sibley came off the bench in the second half to make his debut for the Under-20s.

Clinton Mola of Stuttgart opened the scoring for England before Manchester City's James McAtee doubled their lead going into the half-time break.

Leeds United’s Joe Gelhardt netted after half-time to put the hosts in control before the hour.

Darius-Dacian Ghindovean pulled a goal back for Romania before Jensen Weir of Cambridge United restored England’s three-goal advantage.

The gloss was put on the scoreline late on when Gelhardt netted his second before Crystal Palace’s Jesuran Rak-Sakyi struck in added time to round off the scoring.

Buchanan now has two caps for England's Under-20s, as well as three for the Under-19s and two for the Under-21s. Sibley, meanwhile, previously recorded appearances at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level prior to picking up his first Under-20 cap in Monday's game.
