The September edition of The Rampage is set for release this Thursday and is jam-packed full of exclusive Derby County content.

Inside this edition of the Rams’ monthly magazine, there are interviews with Head Goalkeeping Coach Jason Pearcey about his pathway from the Academy to the first team coaching set up, whilst we also chat to former Derby County defender and assistant manager Chris Powell, who spent the summer making history with the England national team.

We also spoke to new striker Sam Baldock who opened his goalscoring account in August, scoring the only goal in Derby’s 1-0 victory over Hull City at the MKM Stadium.

Here is an extract from that piece that you can read exclusively in The Rampage from Thursday...

And, with Sheffield United back in the Sky Bet Championship following two seasons in the Premier League, Sam and George could be set to face each other in a competitive fixture. It won’t be the first time it’s happened, however. There have been Bristol City vs. MK Dons games, Brighton & Hove Albion vs. MK Dons and one FA Cup fixture between Reading and Sheffield United, where Sam sprung a surprise on his brother to try to gain an advantage.

“I’ve got a funny story from the cup game between Reading and Sheffield United in the FA Cup,” Baldock concluded. “I came on towards the end of extra time and we got a corner. As George went past me in the box whilst one of our players went out to take the corner, I told him that my wife was pregnant with our second child.

“That was the first time I had told him, so he kept chasing me saying: ‘what, what, is it true?’ I just tried to have a bit of a serious joke to try and throw him off his duties at a corner. It didn’t work, unfortunately. We didn’t score from the corner and they went on to reach the next round, but he came straight over at full time saying: ‘are you being serious?’ There is a nice picture where we are embracing at the end of the game and people don’t know why and that’s the reason. We are close so he tends to know stuff before others so it was a nice moment.”

It will be interesting when the two sides face each other at the end of September, that’s for sure.
