Derby County’s Ravel Morrison was named in the starting line-up as Jamaica fell to a 3-2 defeat against Panama in their latest 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

Morrison played 65 minutes of the game before being substituted as Paul Hall’s side failed to keep their faint hopes of reaching the finals in Qatar at the end of this year alive at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City.

West Ham United’s Michail Antonio opened the scoring after five minutes from the penalty spot for Jamacia and, despite missing a penalty of their own, an own goal by Vancouver Whitecaps’ Javain Brown saw Panama on level terms before half-time.

Eric Davis of Dun. Streda and Monagas’ Ariano Azmahar strengthened the home side’s grip on the game before Queens Park Rangers striker Andre Gray, who came on for Morrison, pulled a goal back late on for Jamacia.

The result leaves Jamacia seventh in the CONCACAF qualification table, with one win from ten matches, and they will now return to Kingston on Thursday 3rd February to host Costa Rica (00:00am kick off GMT).

Morrison, who now has eight caps for Jamaica at senior level, has made 23 appearances for Derby this season, scoring one goal, after signing as a free agent in August.
