Centre-back Harrison Solomon is back fit again after a spell out with a knee issue towards the end of 2021.

Midfielder Connor Dixon is still out of action with a foot injury which has sidelined him for a number of weeks.

With a number of Under-23s players, such as skipper Eiran Cashin, defender Max Bardell and striker Jack Stretton, with the first team squad, and Isaac Hutchinson joining Crawley Town on loan last week, it could mean Pat Lyons has a youthful side in action.

The Season So Far...

Derby's Under-23s have played 16 games so far this term in Premier League 2 - Division 1 and have registered four wins, two draws and ten defeats.

Pat Lyons' side ended 2021 with a six match unbeaten run, which included three wins and a draw in the league to lift them out of the relegation zone.

However, they started 2022 with back-to-back league losses against Liverpool and on the road at Leeds United - but picked up a 1-1 draw against Arsenal last time out two weeks ago.

In the Premier League Cup, the Rams are top of Group C after five matches with 13 points to their name and they have already reached the knockout stages of the competition and won the group with a match to spare.

Manchester City sit top of the Premier League 2 - Division 1 table with 11 wins from their 18 league matches and are a point clear of fellow title-chasers West Ham United.

They were 1-0 winners when Derby visited City's Football Academy back in October, courtesy of an early goal from England youth international James McAtee.
