Derby County duo Eiran Cashin and Festy Ebosele have been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their upcoming international fixture.

It’s a maiden call up for Cashin who has impressed for the Rams since making his first league start against Peterborough United at Pride Park Stadium in February, whilst Ebosele is in line to add to his two appearances so far for his nation at Under-21 level.

Both could feature as the Under-21s travel to the Boras Arena to take on Sweden in their UEFA Under-21 European Championship qualification campaign on Tuesday 29th March (5pm kick-off).

Ireland, who sit third in Group F, head to leaders Sweden looking for a repeat of November’s 1-0 win over the Swedes. Ireland won the game in Tallaght courtesy of Ollie O’Neill’s 92nd minute winner.

Cashin’s call up is fine reward following recent dominant displays for the Rams. He has been an assured presence alongside experienced defender Curtis Davies, whilst Ebosele has been a constant threat in the Rams’ squad all season.

The winger’s pace has frightened opposition defenders and he has contributed two goals as both players look to help the Rams secure their Sky Bet Championship status at the of this season.
