Derby County midfielder Jason Knight has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming international fixtures.

The 21-year-old has been named in Stephen Kenny’s squad for their latest round of friendly fixtures as they prepare for their UEFA Nations League encounters against Ukraine, Armenia and Scotland in June.

They will face the world’s number one side Belgium at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 26th March (5pm kick-off), whilst they remain on home soil three days later as they take on Lithuania on Tuesday 29th March (7:45pm kick-off).

The Rams’ Academy graduate already has eight caps and one goal to his name in an international jersey, with his only strike coming in a 4-1 victory against Andorra in June 2021.

Knight has made 112 appearances for Derby in total, scoring 11 times. He has operated in a number of positions for Wayne Rooney’s side in midfield and captained the Rams during the 2020/21 campaign.
