Derby County’s Ravel Morrison scored his first-ever international goal for Jamacia in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Jamacia rounded off their CONCACAF 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign with a 2-1 victory over Honduras at Independence Park in Kingston.

Although a place at the World Cup in Qatar later this year was not achieved following a disappointing campaign, meaning it will be over 20 years since they reached the 1998 World Cup in France, the Reggae Boyz picked up a win to look to the future in a positive mindset.

Jamaica ended a run of seven games without a victory by coming from behind to pick up all three points on home turf.

Angel Tejeda put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot after 18 minutes, a spot-kick of their own from Leon Bailey brought the hosts level six minutes before the break.

Morrison went on to score what turned out to be the winner in added time at the end of the first half with a strike from the edge of the box with his right foot.

Morrison’s appearance was his 12th for the Reggae Boyz after making his debut on the international stage in 2020.
