Derby County midfielder Krystian Bielik has been called up to the Poland squad for their upcoming international fixtures.

The 24-year-old, who made his return to the Derby squad in January 2022 following a lengthy period on the sidelines due to a second serious knee injury in as many years, has been selected by Polish boss Czesław Michniewicz for their upcoming Nations League fixtures.

Poland face a tough set of matches after being drawn in Group A4 alongside Belgium, who are the number two ranked side in the world, the Netherlands and Wales.

They kick off their campaign with a home fixture against Rob Page’s Welsh outfit on Wednesday 1st June (5pm kick off), whilst seven days later they take on Belgium at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels on Wednesday 8th June (7:45pm kick-off).

Poland then take on the Netherlands at the Feyenoord Stadium on Saturday 11th June (7:45pm kick-off), before they face Belgium in the reverse fixture on Tuesday 14th June (7:45pm kick-off).

Bielik, who scored a dramatic late equaliser on his return from injury in the Rams' 2-2 draw against Birmingham City in January, played 17 times in total before the end of the 2021/22 campaign for club and country.
