Derby County defender Curtis Davies was named as the Jack Stamps Player of the Season for the 2021/22 campaign at the club’s End of the Season Awards night on Tuesday, sponsored by McAndrew Utilities.

Davies, who has made 150 appearances for the club since signing from Hull City in 2017, has played all 45 of Derby’s Sky Bet Championship matches this season.

The 37-year-old has been a consistent performer at the heart of the backline and offered much-valued leadership and experience on and off the field in a testing campaign.

Supporters selected Davies as their winner in an online vote and the Jack Stamps Player of the Season follows the Supporters’ Club and Punjabi Rams accolades that he has received in recent weeks for his performances this term.

Elsewhere, midfielder Max Bird was named as the Sammy Crooks Young Player of the Season following another impressive campaign.

The Academy graduate has been a consistent figure in the middle of the pitch throughout the season and the 2021/22 campaign saw him net his first-ever career goal in the 2-1 home win over Stoke City in September, ironically on his 21st birthday.

Right-back Nathan Byrne was handed the Players’ Player of the Season award following another assured campaign, with his team-mates recognising his impressive and consistent displays.

Krystian Bielik’s thumping acrobatic effort in the emotionally charged and thrilling 2-2 draw against Birmingham City at Pride Park Stadium back in January, a year to the day that he suffered a long-term anterior cruciate ligament knee injury, was selected by supporters as their Goal of the Season.

In addition, Ryan Allsop’s crucial save in the 1-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion in December was selected as the Save of the Season and skipper Tom Lawrence picked up the Leading Goalscorer Award for his 11 goals in all competitions to date.

In the Academy, Under-18s midfielder Darren Robinson picked up the Scholar of the Year award and Harry Hawkins, who has stepped up feature for the Under-18s on a number of occasions this term, was crowned as the Academy Player of the Year.

Derby County Women’s awards saw midfielder Sherry McCue named as their Player of the Season, while their Young Player of the Season accolade went to defender Amy Sims.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Derby’s 1971/72 First Division title-winning team for their incredible efforts 50 years ago, while Head Groundsman Paul Thompson was recognised for his efforts by claiming the Brian Clough Award.
