Derby County defender Curtis Davies was presented with the Punjabi Rams Player of the Year award, sponsored by Leedale LTD, for the 2021/22 season last weekend.

Davies, 37, was handed the award by representatives from the Punjabi Rams prior to the home fixture against Cardiff City at Pride Park Stadium.

The defender’s excellent form during the campaign saw him play every minute of all 46 Sky Bet Championship matches for Derby as Wayne Rooney’s side bravely fought against various off-field obstacles on the pitch.

Davies was one of just six players across the division to do so and the achievement was even more admirable considering he missed a large portion of the 2020/21 season with an achilles problem.

His impressive performances saw him also win the supporters’ vote for Jack Stamps Player of the Season award, while he was also named as the Supporters’ Club Player of the Season.

Davies, who joined Derby from Hull City in the summer of 2017, has registered 151 appearances for the club and surpassed 600 appearances in club football earlier in the campaign.

In addition, Ellie Gilliatt was named as the Derby County Women Player of the Year by the Punjabi Rams.
