Derby County midfielder Jason Knight was in action for the Republic of Ireland on Saturday afternoon as they recorded a convincing home win over Scotland.

Ireland claimed their first UEFA Nations League win, at the 13th attempt, with a 3-0 success over Scotland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Stephen Kenny’s side took a 20th-minute lead through Alan Browne and Troy Parrott doubled their advantage soon afterwards, while Michael Obafemi rounded off the scoring early in the second half.

Knight was named in the starting line-up once again after an impressive showing in the 1-0 loss to Ukraine in midweek and recorded 72 minutes before being replaced.

Derby Academy graduate Knight, 21, now has 14 caps for Ireland and they will round off a busy set of international fixtures with an away game against Ukraine, which will be played in Poland, on Tuesday 14th June (7:45pm kick-off).

Fellow Ram Festy Ebosele, who is due to leave Derby this summer at the end of his contract to join Italian side Udinese, was not in the matchday squad as he looks to win his first international cap.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Derby midfielder Krystian Bielik wasn’t involved in Poland’s Nations League clash in Holland.
