Derby County midfielder Jason Knight picked up his latest cap for the Republic of Ireland over the weekend in their UEFA Nations League opener in Armenia.

Eduard Spertsyan scored the only goal as Ireland were beaten 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, with a rasping drive from distance 16 minutes from time, in the Group E opener at the Hanrapetakan Stadium.

Academy graduate Knight’s 12th Ireland cap, in the first of four Nations League matches this month, came as a substitute after 73 minutes as he continues to establish himself on the international stage under Stephen Kenny.

Ireland return to action this week when they take on Ukraine at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday 8th June (7:45pm kick-off).

They are back on home soil three days later as they take on Steve Clarke’s Scotland side on Saturday 11th June (5pm kick off), whilst they round off a busy set of international fixtures with an away fixture against Ukraine on Tuesday 14th June (7:45pm kick-off).

Elsewhere, no other Rams players on international duty were in action over the course of the weekend with Festy Ebosele (Republic of Ireland), Ravel Morrison (Jamacia), Krystian Bielik (Poland) and Eiran Cashin (Republic of Ireland Under-21s) not getting match minutes.
