Derby County midfielder Ravel Morrison was on target for Jamaica as they claimed a 3-1 home victory over Suriname in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Jamacia were 3-1 winners in their second CONCACAF Nations League - League A fixture, which was played at Independence Park in Kingston, following a 1-1 draw in Suriname over the weekend.

Morrison, claiming his tenth cap for Jamaica, opened the scoring after 16 minutes with a delightful free kick from the edge of the box which flew into the top corner for his second international goal.

Yanic Wildschut equalised for the visitors before Junior Flemmings restored the home side’s lead before half-time after being set up by Morrison. Damion Lowe rounded off the scoring for Jamaica with 70 minutes played to confirm the win.

Included in the Suriname starting line-up was former Derby winger Florian Jozefzoon, who made 48 appearances and scored three goals for the Rams between 2018 and 2021.

Jamaica are back at Independence Park to take on Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League on Wednesday 15th June (1am kick-off).

Morrison, who finished the 2021/22 season strongly with the Rams, made 38 appearances in all competitions for Derby during the campaign, scoring five goals and assisting four times.
