Derby County wishes to clarify the position relating to its 2022/23 Season Kits.
Although the 2022/23 Season home, away and third kit designs, produced by Umbro, were approved some time ago, production understandably stalled whilst the club was in administration.
Following the purchase of the club by Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd, the overseas production process is now underway, however the kits are not expected to be delivered to the club’s retail partner Fanatics until the Autumn.
The club genuinely acknowledges the disappointment this will cause supporters, but it also wants to convey a heartfelt thanks to both Umbro and Fanatics for their patience and cooperation in what has been a unique situation, and for their commitment to ensuring all three kits are delivered and made available to buy as soon as possible.
Thankfully the first team’s playing kit and training wear is due to arrive in time for the start of the 2022/23 Season, as the administrators permitted sign-off of a small and essential order prior to the production cut off. Therefore a temporary home kit, provided by Umbro, will be worn for all four of the first-team pre-season friendlies this month.
Once the 2022/23 Season is underway, the temporary game-worn shirts will be offered to supporters via an online auction and separate prize draw to give every supporter a chance to own some unique club memorabilia and to help raise further funds for the award-winning Derby County Community Trust.
The club will endeavour to keep supporters updated on progress.
