Derby County have completed the Transfer Deadline Day signing of promising Sheffield United forward William Osula.

The Denmark youth international has joined the Rams on a season-long loan deal from the Championship outfit to strengthen the attacking options available to Interim Manager Liam Rosenior.

Osula, who turned 19 last month, made his first-team bow for the Blades during the 2021/22 season and recorded a total of five appearances before the conclusion of the campaign under Paul Heckingbottom.

The forward is Derby’s latest addition to the senior squad since Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd completed their purchase of the club at the beginning of July.

William Osula In Profile

Osula was originally on the youth books of F.C. Copenhagen in Denmark before he joined Sheffield United in 2018.

After impressing at youth level for the Blades, Osula was an unused substitute in their 1-0 home win over Burnley on the final day of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, which was a reward for his 12-goal return at Under-21 level.

Notably, the forward netted a nine-minute hat-trick in a 4-0 rout of Ipswich Town as the Blades reached the Professional Development League National Final.

After penning professional terms last summer, his first-team debut came as a substitute for the Blades in their 0-0 draw at Blackpool in March 2022, while he made four further outings off the bench in the closing months of the campaign.

During his brief time with United’s first team, he was a team-mate of recent Rams signings David McGoldrick and Conor Hourihane.

Osula has been capped by Denmark at youth international level and he featured for their Under-19s in a friendly against Hungary earlier this year.
