It’s back to Emirates FA Cup action and back home for Derby County when Torquay United come to Pride Park Stadium on Tuesday evening for a First Round Replay (7:45pm kick-off).

The original tie down at Plainmoor earlier this month finished 2-2 after 90 minutes thanks to a last minute goal from the National League outfit, following striker William Osula's brace of goals, and the tie will now be decided in Derbyshire tomorrow night to see who will head to Newport County in the Second Round.

In the lead-up to the game getting underway, dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you need to know…

Team News

Skipper Curtis Davies (knee) and centre-back partner James Chester (calf) both remain absent but both continue to recover from their respective injuries well.

Winger Tom Barkhuizen (hamstring) and midfielder Jason Knight (ankle) are both edging closer to a return but Tuesday night's game will come too soon for the pair.

Goalkeeper Joseph Anang (arm) remains out of action with the injury he sustained a few days after signing on loan from West Ham United in August.

Defender Eiran Cashin is available for selection after his red card in the meeting with Torquay earlier this month was overturned, while he also served a one-match ban in the league for collecting five yellow cards this season in the 3-1 success at MK Dons.

Coaching Staff Views

First Team Coach Matt Hamshaw spoke to RamsTV ahead of Tuesday's cup clash.

He said: “We’re disappointed that we didn’t come away with the win at Plainmoor last time out. Obviously the red card for Eiran Cashin affected the game and gave them momentum.

“We’ve got memories of all their fans running on at the end of the game too which is great for the FA Cup but when you’re in the opposition, not so much.

“It’s great motivation being the underdog but we want to get them back here now and go again.”

From The Dressing Room

Defender Haydon Roberts sat down with RamsTV after scoring his first goal of the season in the win at MK Dons on Saturday to discuss Tuesday’s cup replay.

He said: We like to think we’ll be a bit more affective with the chances we have. I think in the first leg we could have had the game done by half-time but credit to them, they played really well.

“We’ve got to respect Torquay because they pose a different type of challenge.

“Hopefully we can make use of our pitch, play the way we play and we can have a good night and get through to the next round.”

Match Officials

Sam Purkiss is the man in the middle for the FA Cup replay and he will be assisted by Richard Wigglesworth and Lisa Rashid.

Ruebyn Ricardo is on Fourth Official duties for the contest.

Purkiss has taken charge of 15 games so far this season, predominantly across Sky Bet League One and Two.

He’s distributed 47 yellow cards, three red cards and awarded three penalties.

FA Cup Format

In rounds up to and including the Fourth Round, fixtures resulting in a draw over the course of 90 minutes will go to a replay at the away side.

If the replay once again ends in a draw after 90 minutes, extra-time will be played and then if necessary, a penalty shoot-out.

Since 2016/17, ties have been settled on the day from the Quarter-Finals onwards with the use of extra-time and penalties.

From 2018/19, any tie from the Fifth Round onwards is now also settled by the use of extra-time and penalties rather than a replay.

FA Cup Substitute Rules

In the FA Cup, each club is permitted to name up to nine substitutes on their team sheet, of whom not more than five may take part in the cup tie.

Each club is only permitted a maximum of three opportunities to make substitutions during the game, although clubs may make substitutions at half time and any that are made will not count towards the maximum of three opportunities.
