Derby County midfielder Max Bird feels as though it was 'two points' dropped following the 1-1 draw against Burton Albion in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams led for most of the game at the Pirelli Stadium thanks to an early James Collins header, but the Brewers levelled things up late in the second-half to earn a share of the spoils.

Speaking to RamsTV afterwards, Bird spoke of his disappointment of not being able to hold on for another win on the road.

On whether he feels it's two points dropped...

Yes, 100%. The lads are disappointed in there and we've come out and said it's two dropped. We created chances in the second-half, we've just got to put teams to bed.

We conceded another sloppy goal but away from that we dealt with set-pieces and long throws quite well.

If we can get that last ball or last touch that got us the goals like we did at Bristol Rovers a few weeks ago, then we'll be flying.

On turning draws into wins...

This is probably Burton's biggest game of the season and a big one for us in terms of trying to get up the league as much as we can. The second goal would have been massive and given us a lift. They were obviously going to come out of the blocks fast in the second-half and we were a little bit on the back foot but we just needed to be a bit more aggressive going forward.

I say it all the time but we go back onto the training pitch, look at the game and we've got to try and find a way to score more goals so we're in a more comfortable position.

When you draw a lot of matches you're either edging on being a poor team or close to being a very good team. We've drawn away from home and you take it on some occasions but we want the wins. It's the time of the year where we want to be picking up three points.

On returning to Pride Park next Saturday against Forest Green Rovers...

We're still on that unbeaten run. We're disappointed today, we wanted three points and should have got them - so we're disappointed. Naturally all of us in there want to win football games and the boss is like that too. He wants to win every game so we take everything into next week now - our first-half performance - and we need to put the finishing touches on the opportunities that we're getting.
