Post-Match Verdict: Paul Warne Vs Forest Green Rovers (H)

Derby County Head Coach Paul Warne believes his side thoroughly deserved the three points following their 4-0 win over Forest Green Rovers - but is still demanding more.

David McGoldrick scored his second hat-trick of the season and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing found the net in the convincing victory at Pride Park Stadium in Sky Bet League One, but Warne still believes his team have got more in them.

Speaking to RamsTV after the game, he gave his assessment of the performance, McGoldrick's hat-trick and more.

On the result...

I always want more. I don't mean more goals because I don't want to be disrespectful to the opposition but I just didn't think we moved the ball quickly enough in the first-half. I don't think we had enough intensity in our play but we went in 2-0 up and we only really had three attempts. We were clinical and I've asked them to be clinical.

In the second-half we were in complete control, were completely dominant and I think Knighty was excellent when he came on. He's kept his head even when he's not been in the team; he's kept smiling, encouraging his team-mates and I thought he was very good.

I thought Eiran Cashin was very good and literally didn't put a foot wrong. As an overall performance we did enough to win the game and that's all we ask the lads to do.

On the second-half changes paying dividends...

All in all I'm pleased and there's no injuries which is great. We can have a good week with them next week before a tough game at Bolton Wanderers on the 27th December but we'll have a fit group to pick from and it's nice.

There's not many times where you know if you win you can get into the play-off places, so it was sort of like our game in hand.

We need to keep getting back-to-back results. A tough one at Bolton is coming up and then two home games against Cambridge United and Accrington Stanley, which we'd like to play well in as well. I am really pleased with the lads. A clean sheet, four goals and Christmas week - happy days.

On what he's doing differently with David McGoldrick...

We've done loads of voice notes for him to listen to whilst he's going to sleep!

We said to him jokingly if he'd have played for us a few years ago he'd be a very wealthy man.

In all seriousness, we are doing nothing different. Sometimes strikers just hit glorious form and he's a really good finisher if he gets opportunities but if we don't get the ball in the box then he's not going to get opportunities.

I'm eally pleased for Didzy, he works really hard and he's reliable in tight areas.
