Derby County winger Lewis Dobbin was 'buzzing' to get on the scoresheet in the side's 2-0 victory over Cheltenham Town on Tuesday evening.

Dobbin scored the second of the night after David McGoldrick had given the side the lead just before half-time.

Speaking to RamsTV after the Sky Bet League One fixture, the man on loan from Everton gave his thoughts on the performance.

On the game...

No complaints from us. I think we played the conditions well and got the job done and it's another three points to the tally.

On how important it was to respond from Saturday's loss at Barnsley...

We can't get too down when we do lose games because as the gaffer was saying to us that we've only lost two in the last 20 so we need to keep our confidence high, beating teams and hopefully keep getting points.

On his performance...

I've just got to be full of confidence and be positive. When I drive at players I know it causes a real problem. In the end I got my reward tonight with a goal.

On how important it was to go in 1-0 up at half-time...

It's always important as it ruins their game plan and changes their half-time team talk and also so we can go into half-time confident and come out in the second half and keep going.

It's a great feeling scoring in front of the fans at home, I can't really describe it. I'm thankful for Didzy too because he wasn't too happy with me tonight!

On why McGoldrick wasn't too happy with him...

My decision making at times was a bit off but it's something we'll work on and we can just have jokes about it now after a win!

On McGoldrick's game...

He sees things that other players don't see to be fair. He's a joy to watch and I can keep learning from him and hopefully keep taking tips and improving myself as a player.

With the younger lads he's great and he always puts his arm around us, helps us and gives us tips and I think that's really showing on the pitch.
