Derby County winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing says the team have looked 'right up for it' in training ahead of Tuesday's visit of Cheltenham Town (7:45pm kick-off).

He spoke to RamsTV to preview the midweek clash with the Robins in Sky Bet League One as they look to bounce back from the 4-1 loss at Barnsley on Saturday.

On how long defeats stay with him...

I think for everyone it's different, but for me personally it does play on my mind a little bit. With games coming up thick and fast around this period, you've just got to let it go. We've had our debrief today, seen what we needed to see and hear what we needed to hear and we've got a game on Tuesday night now against Cheltenham that we need to focus on.

On the attitude within training...

Everyone dreads the meeting after a loss, you know what's coming, but we needed to see it. We must learn from it and we get out on the field and we've had a really good day in training. Everyone looks right up for it and it's good to see.

On whether lessons were learned from Saturday...

We saw a lot in the video today. We knew within ourselves and we had a chat after the game where everyone gave their opinions. We take it on board and move onto the next one.

On playing at Pride Park...

It's great playing in front of our fans at home. We can't get too high on a win and we can't get too low on a loss. A game is a game and we've just got to keep moving on to the next one and deal with each one as they come.

On whether he gets excited for matchdays...

I'm always excited for game day. Saturday/Tuesday can be tough but when we haven't got a Tuesday game it is a long week for me personally of waiting for the next match.

Especially at home, I can't wait to play and we are building something quite remarkable at Pride Park. Hopefully we can continue that on Tuesday night.

On how he feels in himself...

I feel quite good to be honest. The facilities here are something like I've never seen at a club before and I've been at some good clubs. We've got a great medical team and we train around a lot of data so we're very well looked after.
