Derby County striker David McGoldrick has been named as the winner of the Jack Stamps Player of the Season for the 2022/23 campaign.

McGoldrick, who is the Rams’ leading goalscorer this term with an impressive return of 25 goals in all competitions, came on top in the supporters’ vote.

The experienced 35-year-old linked up with Derby last summer after leaving Sheffield United and he has racked up 43 appearances in total.

Supporters selected McGoldrick as their winner in an online vote and the Jack Stamps Player of the Season accolade follows the Supporters’ Club and Punjabi Rams accolades that he has received in recent weeks.

Defender Eiran Cashin, meanwhile, has been crowned as the Sammy Crooks Young Player of the Season following an impressive campaign at the heart of the Derby backline.

Cashin, a graduate of Derby’s Academy, has made 50 appearances in all competitions this season and scored on a single occasion.

The 21-year-old made his first team bow last season and as well as establishing himself in the Rams’ defence he has also earned international honours with the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level.

McGoldrick and Cashin will be presented with their awards on the Pride Park Stadium pitch ahead of this afternoon’s Sky Bet League One meeting with Portsmouth (3pm kick-off).
