Derby County midfielder Conor Hourihane says the 'buzz is back' in the dressing room after back-to-back wins in Sky Bet League One.

David McGoldrick's second half penalty ensured the Rams picked up three points in a 1-0 home win against Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon, backing up the 2-1 success at Exeter City in midweek, and the result moved the team back into the top six.

Speaking to RamsTV after the match, Hourihane gave his verdict on the performance.

On the win...

We've got big back-to-back wins at a really crucial time and we've just been saying in the dressing room that it feels like the buzz is back a bit. The fans were terrific today and we needed them. They got right behind us to defend our box at the end and it was a great atmosphere at the end.

On David McGoldrick's penalty...

I said to him after he scored that it was never in a doubt. He's cool, calm, collected and shows no pressure at all. It was a massive goal. When you've got good players around you it makes your job a lot easier.

On the chemistry in the squad...

There's been a bit of a change up in position for Nat Mendez-Laing and Louie Sibley and it's given us a bit of a different dimension going forwards. They both drive with the ball in good areas and commit people and that little bit of a tweak has added a little bit to us. In recent games we've struggled to kill teams off so it's started to come together nicely recently.

On being back in the top six...

We want to be in there once the final two games are played. You can't get away from it because everyone is speaking about it straight away in the dressing room after games. We've got a couple of matches to go now and there will be no doubt a great atmosphere in our last home fixture next Saturday against Portsmouth and hopefully we can get the result that everyone wants.
