Derby County will step up their preparations for the 2023/24 Sky Bet League One season with a trip to National League side Chesterfield on Wednesday night (7pm kick-off).

Right-sider Joe Ward is set to return to the fold after missing the pre-season training camp in Spain last week owing to a personal issue, while he also had a minor groin issue.
Quartet Louie Sibley, Tom Barkhuizen, Korey Smith and Callum Elder missed the friendly against Salford City in Spain at the weekend with minor issues and are continuing to be monitored by the medical team.
Striker Conor Washington is concluding his
rehabilitation from the knee injury he sustained at Rotherham United prior to
joining the Rams earlier this month.
Head Coach Paul Warne could also include a number of youngsters in the squad as he continues to ensure the match minutes are spread out right across the squad.
