Derby County striker James Collins has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month award for January.

His acrobatic volley in the 2-1 victory over Cheltenham Town is the strike that has earned him the worthy nomination.

Collins connected perfectly with a cross from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing to arrow an effort into the back of the net and ultimately win the game for the Rams on the day at Pride Park Stadium.

The Goal of the Month nomination comes after Derby's number nine has already earned himself nominations for Sky Bet League One Player of the Month and PFA Fans' Player of the Month awards following an excellent January.

Collins has competition from Wigan Athletic's Jonny Smith, Chris Martin of Bristol Rovers and Bolton Wanderers' Zac Ashworth for the award.

Rams fans can vote for Collins' goal here before 5pm on Monday 12th February 2024.

The supporters' votes will be combined with the choices from a panel to determine the winners.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL experts Don Goodman and David Prutton.
