Derby County forward Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has been named the PFA Sky Bet League One Fans’ Player of the Month for the month of February.

The Guatemala international lands the award after an impressive month saw him rack up two goals and four assists across six games.

He was pivotal in securing vital victories for the Rams as he notched the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win at Charlton Athletic and also provided the assist for Louie Sibley to grab Derby’s last gasp-victory against Stevenage on home soil.

Mendez-Laing beat off strong competition for the honour, beating off Portsmouth’s Abu Kamara, Adam Phillips of Barnsley, Ollie O’Neill of Leyton Orient, Portsmouth’s Paddy Lane and Lincoln City’s Reeco Hackett-Fairchild.

The 31-year-old completes a hat-trick for the Rams after becoming the third Derby player in a row to land the PFA Fans' Player of the Month award, following in the footsteps of defender Eiran Cashin and striker James Collins who bagged the December and January trophies respectively.
