We look at what events are coming up during the month of July for the Men’s first team, as well as the Under-21s and Under-18s at Academy level, the Women’s first-team, club events, community campaigns and birthdays across Derby County.


Monday 1st July – Men’s players return for pre-season training

Paul Warne’s first team squad will report back for pre-season training at Moor Farm Training Ground to start their preparations in earnest for the 2024/25 Sky Bet Championship season.

Monday 1st July – Two years under Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd!

It will be two years to the day since Derby County was rescued from administration, by David Clowes, after being purchased by Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd.

Monday 1st July – Fozzy’s anniversary!

Craig Forsyth signed for the Rams on a permanent basis on this day in 2013 and, eleven years and over 300 appearances later, he remains an important member of the squad.


Tuesday 2nd July – Women’s players return for pre-season training

Sam Griffiths’ Ewes will report back for pre-season training as they look to build on the positives on display in the 2023/24 season, which included lifting the FA Women’s National League Plate.

Thursday 4th July – Barkhuizen’s birthday!

Forward Tom Barkhuizen, who is entering his third season with Derby after signing in 2022, will celebrate his 31st birthday.


Sunday 7th July – Duo celebrate a year with Derby!

Defender Sonny Bradley and striker Conor Washington will celebrate a year as Derby County players after putting pen-to-paper a year ago.


Thursday 11th July – One year of Kane!

Versatile right-sider Kane Wilson will celebrate his one-year anniversary as a Derby County player after signing from Bristol City in the summer of 2023.

Friday 12th July – Men’s first team Vs Matlock Town (A) 7:45pm

After two weeks on the training ground, Derby will make the short journey to local non-league side Matlock Town for their first pre-season outing of the summer.


Saturday 13th July – Collo celebrates two years!

Striker James Collins will hit the two-year anniversary of his arrival at Derby County after signing from Cardiff City two years ago.

Sunday 14th July – Men’s first team to travel to Spain

The Rams’ squad will spend a week at a training camp based in the Spanish city of Alicante to continue their work and prepare for the new Championship season.


Thursday 18th July – Pride Park Stadium turns 27!

The club’s Pride Park Stadium home was officially opened on 18th July 1997 by Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and we celebrate seeing the stadium turn 27.

Friday 19th July – Men’s first team Vs Stockport County in Spain (10am UK time)

Paul Warne’s squad will take in a game at their Spanish training camp with a friendly clash against League One side Stockport County at the Pinatar Arena.

Sunday 21st July – Men’s first team to return from Spain

After a week in the Spanish heat and a meeting with last season’s League Two champions in Stockport County, Derby will fly home to resume their pre-season preparations on home soil.

Wednesday 24th July - Men’s first team Vs Chesterfield (A) 7:30pm

Next up on the pre-season fixture list is a trip to last season’s National League champions Chesterfield, who are back in the EFL under Paul Cook’s management, as the Rams step up their workload.

Saturday 27th July - Men’s first team Vs Shrewsbury Town (A) 3pm

The pre-season games come thick and fast with a visit to League One opposition in the form of Paul Hurst’s Shrewsbury Town for what should be another worthwhile workout for the Rams.


Sunday 28th July - Rai’s birthday!

Women winger Kira Rai, who has been with the Ewes since Under-10s level, turns 25.

Wednesday 31st July - Men’s first team Vs Barnsley (A) 7:45pm

A busy month of pre-season work will conclude with a friendly at another League One side in Barnsley at Oakwell, who narrowly missed out on promotion in 2023/24 via the play-offs.
