Derby County Under-21s midfielder Harry Hawkins has once again extended his loan stay with Southern League Central side AFC Telford United.

The 18-year-old signed up with the Bucks for an initial 28-day loan period in December, that was prolonged until the start of February. Telford have opted once again to retain Hawkins for a further month-long loan period, until the beginning of March.

The midfielder has featured seven times for Telford, helping them secure an 11-point haul in the Southern League Central, including in a January double-header against Bedford Town where the Bucks netted nine goals across the two games.

Telford have four league games lined up for the remainder of Hawkins’ loan spell, with ties against Biggleswade Town, Bishop’s Stortford, Redditch United and Leiston set to be played in February.

Hawkins joined Derby’s Under-21s squad on a full-time basis ahead of the 2024/25 season after signing a new deal with the Rams. The loan spell with Telford has seen Hawkins gain his first in-depth experience of competitive senior men’s football.

Hawkins has made nine appearances in Premier League 2 for Derby’s Under-21s so far this season, including captaining the side against Liverpool and Manchester City in the league.
