Derby County’s starting line-up has been confirmed ahead of their pre-season meeting with Walsall at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium this evening (7:30pm kick-off).
John Eustace’s side will play their third pre-season fixture as preparations for the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship season continue against the League Two outfit in the West Midlands.
Eustace has named a team with three changes from the side that started when Derby triumphed 2-1 over FC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria last Friday.
Josh Vickers starts in goal, with summer signing Richard O’Donnell on the bench. Jacob Widell Zetterström isn’t involved, with the match minutes due to be spread across the goalkeeping group over pre-season.
The other changes see Craig Forsyth and Liam Thompson, who both penned new deals with the club this summer, come into the side.
Corey Blackett-Taylor and Kayden Jackson were on the scoresheet in the Rams’ last friendly - with Blackett-Taylor assisting as well as netting as Derby came out on top against Salzburg to cap off their week-long Austrian training camp and they both start once more.
Recent signing Patrick Agyemang is not involved after undergoing hernia surgery last week, while Kane Wilson, Carlton Morris, Sondre Langås, Lars-Jørgen Salvesen, Ryan Nyambe, Joe Ward, Curtis Nelson, Andreas Weimann and Dajaune Brown are all continuing their rehabilitation work to return from injury.
Derby County: Vickers (GK), I.Gordon, Batth, Clarke, Forsyth, Thompson, Goudmijn, Adams, Jackson, Blackett-Taylor, Roofe.
Substitutes: O’Donnell (GK), J.Thompson (GK), Turley, Elder, D.Robinson, K.Robinson, Perry, Wheeldon, T.Gill, Oguntolu, Canoville, Hawkins, Agbawodikeizu, Rooney.
