Agyemang - who is of Ghanaian heritage - was born in East Hartford, Connecticut and his footballing journey began at East Hartford High School, where he scored 17 goals and recorded 12 assists during his senior year.

30 goals and 10 assists followed in his first two years at college level at Eastern Connecticut State University, before he transferred to the University of Rhode Island in 2020.

His impressive goalscoring record continued with the Rhode Island Rams, where he was named as part of the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team in both 2021 and 2022.

Agyemang scored 19 goals and recorded 12 assists across two years and with his stock rising, the forward was the 12th overall selection in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft and he joined Charlotte FC ahead of their upcoming season.

During his debut season, he scored 10 goals in just 11 games for Crown Legacy FC – Charlotte’s reserve side who compete in MLS Next Pro – and got off the mark in MLS by finding the net in a 3-3 draw with Seattle Sounders.

Ahead of the 2024 campaign, Charlotte appointed former Aston Villa and Leicester City boss Dean Smith and Agyemang instantly became a regular starter under the English Head Coach.

He scored 10 goals to fire the Crown to the MLS Play-Offs with a franchise-best record of 14 regular season victories.

Despite defeat to Orlando City on penalties in the Round One, Agyemang had caught the attention of the recently-appointed United States Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino and he received his first call-up to the USMNT in January 2025.

He marked his full international debut with a goal against Venezuela, before making it two in two by finding the net against Costa Rica as a substitute just days later, ahead of the MLS season kick-off.

At the midway point of Charlotte’s 2025 season, Agyemang had scored eight goals and recorded two assists in 18 appearances in all competitions, while he also continued his impressive record for his national team at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

He scored twice as Mauricio Pochettino’s side reached the final, to take his international record to an impressive five goals in 12 appearances.
