Derby County Under-21s goalkeeper Jack Thompson has joined non-league side Worcester City on loan.

The Rams’ shot-stopper has linked up with the Southern League Premier Division Central side on a month-long youth loan move, as he looks to gain valuable experience in senior men’s football.
The Academy graduate made his debut for Worcester in their 1-1 draw at Banbury United on Tuesday evening, putting in an assured performance to help his new side pick up a point on the road.
Thompson, who is 18, spent time at Kettering Town early last season and also headed out on loan to National League North outfit Alfreton Town but didn’t gain match minutes and suffered an ankle injury that ended his campaign in early 2025.
He returned to full fitness during the summer and linked up with the first-team squad for their pre-season training camp in July last month.
Thompson has been on the books with Derby since the age of eight and put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract with the club in December 2023, while he received his first England Under-18s call-up in early 2024.
